Meeting Ippolita, my favorite jewelry designer was a dream come true. Not only did I have the opportunity to see her entire collection, I was so inspired by Ippolita’s optimism.
Asking Ippolita “How did you start your jewelry business?” She replied “America is the land of opportunity!” Her enthusiasm was contagious and inspiring!
In addition to designing timeless jewelry, running a successful jewelry business, and traveling around the world, Ippolita has a 29-year old son and a 6-month old baby boy, Dante!
She is amazing!
“How did you get your start as a jewelry designer?”
“I grew up in Florence Italy. I was a sculptor and decided to take my sculpting and translate it into jewelry. I started my company. Back in Italy, everyone wanted to know about my family and their jewelry business. Since, my family didn’t have a jewelry business, it was difficult for me to get into the industry. So I came to America, the land of opportunity. I walked into to Bergdorf Goodman’s and asked to see the jewelry buyer. She was out of the store. They introduced the creative director to me. I showed her my jewelry and she placed an order. I was in business. That was 20 years ago and I have been selling my jewelry to Bergdorf’s ever since!”
Where is your jewelry made?”
“All around the world. I find skilled artisans to create my jewelry.”
