Some cakes are better than others!
A professional photographer is snapping photos and I am baking a Black Midnight Cake. No doubt it will turn out perfectly! After all, I have been baking this Betty Crocker cake since high school. Back in the day, my best friend, Leslie and I baked one just about once a week, doubling the icing recipe. Of course.
I’m positive this icing is whipping up perfectly, it’s going to be a beautiful cake and the ganache is looking great too. I’m frosting the cake and drizzling the ganache on it. Five minutes later it melts into a gooey concoction. Bet the calories melted away too!
On second thought, I started my blog in 2010. Today just seems like the first day because I have a professional photographer coming to help. Up until now, I’ve been balancing my camera in one hand and a bowl of icing in the other.
Imagine my surprise when I was invited to compete in Oprah’s cooking contest and appear on her State Fair of Texas Show. My luck began when I won the “Best of Show” in the cake contest at the State Fair with my Blue Ribbon Lemon Cake. Thanks Oprah!
So inspired by the Oprah show, I decided to start a blog. Just one problem. I didn’t know much about blogging. So eight years later, I am slowly catching on to the tricks of the blogging world.
No doubt some cakes are better than others. Hopefully, I’ll have more good cakes than bad cakes to share with you!
